Princess Passengers Can Re-live Their Vacation through Music with New "Tropical Escapes" CD Exclusive Collection of Regional Sounds Debuts in Shipboard Boutiques
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (November 2, 2006) - A new musical escape featuring the passionate and exhilarating sounds of the Caribbean, South America and the South Pacific debuts this month aboard Princess ships.
"Tropical Escapes," a compact disc that captures the spirit of these exotic locales, is the first of a series of themed CDs that will be offered for sale in shipboard boutiques throughout the fleet. The disc, produced exclusively for Princess Cruises, features the work of world-renowned artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley and Tito Puente, in addition to respected regional musicians.
Listeners will recognize favorites such as "Oye Como Va" and "Little Grass Shack" among the diverse selections featuring a range of styles and unique instruments, including reggae beats, Latin jazz, steel drums and even the ukulele. "We wanted this CD to offer passengers an enjoyable way to take a bit of their vacation home with them," said Jan Swartz, Princess' senior vice president of customer service and sales.
"These songs will take listeners back to the wonderful times they've had in these sun-soaked parts of the world, and may even inspire them to pack their bags again."
